General FAQ
Q How do I find my nearest dealer?
A If you click on the navigation bar on the Importers section you can find all of the shops worldwide.
Q I am not sure which of your range is best suited to me, how do I know which one to choose?
A The best way for you to get the boat that suits your needs is to try the boats for yourselves. Get in touch with your local NDK dealer as they know what they are talking about. Most of the stores offer on the water demos and experienced advice.
Q Which skeg type is the best?
A We offer a choice of 3 systems which are:- Wire Slider, Front Rope and Rear Rope. The wire system is great for personal kayaks. It is easy to use and maintain. You can see clearly how far up or down your skeg is. The reason why it suits personal kayaks rather than fleet kayaks is because you have to remember to lift it up as you land or go over shallows. If you do forget you will kink the wire which will then have to be replaced. The rope skegs are very simple to repair and it is not a huge problem if you forget to pull it up. The down side is it takes a bit longer to get to grips with how far up or down your skeg is. The rear rope is the simplest and is a popular choice with expedition paddlers.
Q Should I go for the foam or glass seat?
A The LV range has foam seats as standard. This allows the lighter paddlers to adjust where they place their seat. We found that it is more important for lighter paddlers to trim their kayak by adjusting the seat position.
Q What compass fits in the recess?
A SILVA 70P compass
