Features of our Sea Kayaks

Skeg

skeg

Front deck skeg adjustment control. This has been designed by SKUK to give the kayaker full control and can be adjusted easily. The rope that controls the raising and lowering of the skeg passes the kayaker through a hose that runs below the deck in the cockpit area.

Kari-Tek Skeg SystemsŪ

hydro skeg

Kari-Tek’s revolutionary system sets new standards for control and reliability. As well as delighting kayakers, it also increases choice and reduces costs for manufacturers and dealers.

Kari-Tek Skeg SystemsŪ, featuring the Hydro-SkegŪ, are based on a completely re-engineered kayak skeg design. Using modern manufacturing techniques to give users unheard of levels of control and reliability, while offering the kayak manufacturer a system which is cost effective and straightforward to integrate into existing production. The system has demonstrated 100% reliability over two years of development. It’s available now, is competitively priced and is already proving a hit with kayakers.

The latest development in Kari-Tek’s Skeg SystemsŪ is the revolutionary new Skeg Rudder System (SRS). It’s both a skeg and an understern rudder. Built with the same technology as the Hydro-SkegŪ and interchangeable with it, the SRS brings new levels of reliability and performance. It’s set to change kayak rudders forever.

Recess

This deck fitting has been designed by SKUK and fits flush to the deck. This also makes it an ideal for retro fitting.

Compass

compass

Sea Kayaking UK offers a variety of compasses that can be fitted to the kayaks. If a custom kayak is ordered the compass recess can be fitted to the clients requirements.

Greenlander stern

stern

The stern has a traditional Inuit up turn. I believe the Inuit kayakers chose this design, as it would have been relatively easy to change the weather cocking characteristics of the kayak, by changing the size of the upturned stern.
