Peter first paddled at the age of 11 in a double folding kayak with broom-handle and table tennis bats, then from 15 paddled rivers in the UK. At the age of 18 he was an Army instructor, teaching in Cyprus and Belize. At 21 he became an army paddler in surf using kayaks and was a member of the Army team to win the inter-services marathon and won the Army white-water championships, both team and individual. Also has won various white-water and marathon races.
In 1984 devises to Westminster for the 1st time, has since done it 11 times, both K1 and K2. Also in 1984 he did an arctic canoe race. He has also paddled along numerous rivers in Europe, 2 expeditions in Nepal, sections in the west coast of New Zealand. Also paddled in Newfoundland.
In 1996 he became the 1st person to take a partially sighted
guy in
a double kayak around mainland UK.
Peter has also crossed the English Channel in a sea kayak and a folding
klepper.
In 2001 he was the first person to paddle solo unsupported in the North
Atlantic, Newfoundland to Ireland.
In 2002, Gibraltar to Morocco.
In 2003, solo circumnavigation of Newfoundland.
Qualifications:
• Level 4 inland & Sea.
• Canoe Kayak safety assessor.
• Aquatic First Aid provider.
